Job overview
We are looking for an experienced Research Nurse to join the East of England Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) te am based in the Cambridge area to cover a period of extended leave.
You will work in P rimary C are and in other o ut of h ospital settings as required to support and champion research across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region.
You will be managing a wide-ranging portfolio of research studies, recruiting participants, receiving informed consent, conducting study procedures and collecting baseline and follow up data in accordance with ICH GCP. You will work from the office and/or home with regular travel across the Cambridge and Peterborough area and throughout the E ast of England region as required .
You must be an experience d Registered Nurse with excellent organisational and communication skills.

S upporting and promoting involvement in commercial and non-commercial research studies on the NIHR portfolio t a king place in P rimary C are and o ut of h ospital settings for the East of England Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN).
Key responsibilities include identification of eligible persons, provision of information, informed consent, and ongoing support for participants . Coordinat ion and carry ing out study assessment s , treatment and follow up, collecting data according to specific clinical trial protocols, ICH Good Clinical Practice, and other relevant legislation .
You wil l be a member of t he RRDN t eam based in the Cambrid geshire and Peterborough area . They will work collaboratively with the team and P rimary C are and out of hospital settings teams across a range of sites throughout Cambridgeshire . This post requires the ability for regular independent travel within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area and outside the region as required

Qualifications
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate
- Completion of research specific training/courses
Experience
- Relevant clinical experience at Band 5 or above
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of working in a clinical research environment e.g. Clinical Trials, participant recruitment and interviewing
- Previous experience of working in primary care or community setting
- Experience of formal or informal teaching and/or supervising junior staff
Knowledge
- Knowledge of clinical research infrastructure in the UK and of research related legislation & regulation
- Understand the structure, role & functions of the NIHR, RECs and R&D departments
- Understanding of the requirements of ICH Good Clinical Practice
- Knowledge of the role of the clinical research nurse; understanding the issues/process of gaining informed consent
- Basic knowledge of research methods
- Capable of writing reports and of presenting research related information to a wide audience
