The predicted salary is between 26530 - 29114 £ per year.
Working within the wider team within the Cardiac Investigations Department, you will support the Cardiology team with provision of Cardiac Diagnostic testing and assessment at the brand new Peterborough Community Diagnostic centre. You will line manage the team of assistant practitioners on this site and may rotate into the department at the City Hospital.
You will have excellent skills in performing 12‑lead ECG and ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring. You will have some experience of analysing ECGs and will be expected to complete professional body examinations in this area. You will ideally have skills in phlebotomy and may learn cannulation as part of this role. You will support the team with leadership aspects such as organising work rotas and stock management within your area.
Main duties of the job
- To carry out in a caring and efficient manner, the appropriate diagnostic investigations of the patient in accordance with Trust and department procedures and protocols and in line with level of competency.
- Primary role, to include: 12‑lead ECG, ECG / BP ambulatory monitoring with analysis and reporting under some supervision.
- Line management support for Cardiac Health Care Science Assistants.
Person specification
- Education and Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in a Health Care related subject or equivalent experience
- Current ILS Certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience working within a clinical or healthcare environment
- Experience performing or supporting cardiac diagnostic tests (e.g. ECG, ambulatory monitoring)
- Experience working independently within defined clinical protocols
- Previous experience working with the public
- Experience supporting, supervising, or mentoring junior staff
- Experience within a cardiac physiology or diagnostic service
