Police Constable – Cambridgeshire Transferee
Cambridgeshire Constabulary is facing unprecedented levels of demand for our services. Response policing is at the forefront of tackling both traditional and emerging crimes—from anti‑social behaviour to cyber‑enabled fraud. Our Response Officers are the first on scene, making critical decisions under pressure and providing immediate support to victims and communities.
Cambridgeshire has an engaged, caring and outward‑facing approach to policing. We value local partnership working to effectively tackle crime and the fear of crime. We are proud of the mature and active partnership problem‑solving work that takes place across the county, ensuring a quality service to the public.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary has a North/South operating model for policing, with Northern and Southern hubs, and this new model will help allocate policing resources based on the demand profile.
- Transfer from a Home Office force, having completed the probation period.
- Experience in Response Policing.
- Commitment to keeping the community safe and protecting the vulnerable.
- Expectation to remain in role for 12 months following appointment.
- Postings will be anywhere in the county, based on vacancy availability; Police Support Unit (PSU) accreditation is required if attained.
- Focused on diversity: we particularly encourage applications from female officers, BME backgrounds or those who speak a language other than English.
- We will not consider applications from officers at Sergeant or higher ranks.
- Recruitment intake is planned to start on 23 February 2026.
The role is permanent, full‑time and falls under the Local Policing Command, within the Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
