An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Tissue Viability Service in a leadership capacity. We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual with a strong commitment to education and improving patient outcomes in wound care. This position is Countywide (not limited to the Cambridge area). Join us and help shape the future of tissue viability services across the county.
Main duties of the job:
- Support Operational & Clinical manager Tissue Viability Nurse and Continence teams to provide a focussed Tissue viability service across Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Trust, working closely with secondary care Trusts and nursing homes to provide a seamless service for patients. Role is predominantly concentrating on Tissue viability, however input into continence services will be required.
- Manage a caseload of various wounds, autonomously and as a part of a multidisciplinary team, utilising advanced assessment skills to prevent wounds and improve wound management in all patients. This includes preventing admission to secondary care and facilitating early discharge planning for patients with significant wounds to enable timely discharge.
- Work with the lead TVN to develop and strengthen tissue viability services across the county.
- Provide nurse education, both supporting and developing nurses and allied health professionals in tissue viability matters.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development and in evidence-based audit and research projects.
