We are looking for a Network Development Planner (Bus Stops & Shelters) to take the lead in delivering a safe, welcoming, and accessible passenger experience across our bus network. You'll be at the forefront of planning, expanding, and improving bus stop and shelter infrastructure, ensuring our facilities meet community needs and align with the region's public transport strategy. Working with councils, developers, and suppliers, you'll help make bus travel more convenient, comfortable, and attractive for everyone.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and oversee programmes to expand and improve bus stops and shelters across the network.
  • Manage contracts, budgets, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with councils, developers, and internal colleagues to identify new opportunities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on bus stop and shelter infrastructure, including DfT guidance and best practice.
  • Engage with stakeholders and the public to build consensus and ensure improvements meet community needs.
  • Report progress and programme milestones to committees and senior stakeholders.

  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects or improving customer experience in a transport environment.
  • Strong contract management and budget control skills.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to pre-empt issues and keep projects on track.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, from councils and developers to contractors and the public.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build consensus.
  • Knowledge of UK bus industry standards and political sensitivities.
  • Experience delivering strategies to improve passenger information.
