You will report to the Senior Support Worker and work in a small team providing practical support to our service users, building on their existing skills and abilities while respecting their individual needs and choices. This includes supporting with personal care where needed, cleaning, shopping, and accessing community activities and opportunities. The role will also involve administration of medication. You will be using IT to update documents such as support plans and risk assessments and should have a good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and assessments of capacity.
The working hours for this role are 20 or 23 hours each week. The shifts are on a 4-week rota, which could be subject to change to meet service needs. Shifts will be during the week, at weekends, or Bank Holidays (between 8am – 10pm). Additional enhancements are paid for weekends and Bank Holidays. You will be required to work two weekend shifts twice each month and complete sleep-ins.
The starting pay for the posts is £13.26 per hour (£19.89 per hour for Saturday hours and £23.60 for Sunday hours). As these roles are part-time, they do not meet the salary requirements for sponsorship to be offered. Interviews will be held on 10th September 2025. As a Support Worker, previous experience of supporting a person with a disability is not essential; however, excellent verbal and written communication skills, IT skills, and a proficient level of written and spoken English for case recording are required. You should have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, you should demonstrate awareness and understanding of equality, diversity, inclusion, the Mental Capacity Act, and the importance of safety and confidentiality in the role.
