The Enhanced Response Service is a fast-paced service providing support to service users who trigger their telecare alarm and working alongside the ambulance service in responding to non-injured falls. We promote independence and signpost service users to Partnership teams for person-centred care and support. The role requires flexible working, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts, with the ability and willingness to travel across the team area.
Support Workers assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, catheter care, feeding, meal prep, medication), respond to falls and telecare alerts, and coordinate with other services such as Fire and Rescue and Ambulance. You will apply learning from adult protection, diversity, and mental capacity training, and report incidents as per Council Policy. Effective liaison within the team and with other agencies (e.g., assistive technology, health colleagues) is essential, along with completing documentation in line with CCC policy.
The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire using CCC pool vehicles, which are manual, so a full manual driving license is required. Available posts are for 14.75, 18, and 21 hours per week at Hereward Hall, March. Shifts include mornings, evenings, and weekends, with a rota that includes every other weekend. Induction training is provided over the first 4 weeks, including shadowing team members.
As these are part-time roles, they do not meet sponsorship salary requirements. Applicants should highlight relevant skills and experience in their application. This is a rolling campaign with applications reviewed daily, and positions filled promptly once suitable candidates are identified.
Applicants need previous experience in a care environment, preferably within Adult social care, with an NVQ Level 2 Care or equivalent, and a willingness to work towards Level 3. Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills are required to update electronic records.
Cambridgeshire offers a diverse community, including urban and rural areas. The organization values diversity and inclusion, supporting a workplace that is respectful and empowering. They are a Disability Confident Employer, offering reasonable adjustments during recruitment and employment, and encourage candidates to discuss needs with the hiring manager.
Additional benefits include wellbeing packages, extra annual leave options, flexible bank holidays, pension contributions, development opportunities, paid volunteering, peer support groups, recognition awards, and discounts through Our Cambs Rewards.
