About the role
West Northants Council is looking for a qualified Consultant in Public Health to lead our busy Health Protection and Healthy Places portfolio for a period of maternity cover. The role will be for an initial period of 6 months but with a possible extension of up to a further 6 months.
The Public Health team is a fast paced, innovative and exciting team to work in, with a wide range of workstreams in operation. We are primarily looking for someone with experience in Health Protection, however a willingness and ability to cross over to other remits within the Public Health pillars is imperative should the need arise.
About you
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and innovative individual with particular expertise in the Health Protection pillar of Public Health. The preferred candidate should be dynamic and innovative, with the ability to react to emerging situations that can sometimes be of a sudden and challenging nature. They will also be an excellent and motivating team leader, who can communicate effectively with clarity, but with an awareness of political sensitivities.
