Children\’s Social Worker – Family Support and Safeguarding Team. Vacancies in March, Cambridge and Huntingdon. Roles are available in the Family Support and Safeguarding locality teams.
Job responsibilities
We are looking for passionate Social Workers who place the child’s voice at the heart of their practice to join the Family Support and Safeguarding Team. You will manage a varied caseload including Child in Need, Children in Need of Protection, Public Law Outline and care proceedings, focusing on children up to age 18. You will use a Motivational Interviewing approach to work in partnership with children and their families to achieve sustainable change and improved outcomes. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team including adult mental health workers, drug and alcohol recovery workers, and adult domestic abuse workers, guided by our practice methods. This is an exciting time to join Family Safeguarding, and applications from a diverse range of workers are welcome.

What will you be doing?
- Act as lead professional for safeguarding matters, ensuring prompt, effective action in line with child protection procedures
- Undertake assessments to identify needs, build on strengths, and set SMART outcomes
- Engage with children, young people and families to develop empowering relationships and facilitate change
- Produce reports and plans for various forums, including court, that are child-focused
About you
We are seeking confident, dynamic individuals who enjoy making a difference locally, are curious, good at building relationships, and enjoy exploring possibilities.
You must:
- Be a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Be able to work from multiple locations and travel countywide independently
