Our Prevention and Early Intervention Business Officer role is central to the quality care and services we deliver across Cambridgeshire. From day one, we invest in our Business Officers, offering sector-leading pay, benefits and training to support a meaningful career where you will make a difference every day. We are looking for two dedicated, full time Business Officers to join us permanently in supporting our Reablement Duty and our Technology Enabled Care/Adult Early Help teams within Prevention & Early Intervention.

We are committed to finding the right fit for this important role. The successful candidate will join a team of motivated professionals, collaborating with a range of specialists within Prevention & Early Intervention, to deliver the best outcomes for residents of Cambridgeshire. This role requires flexibility, proactivity in problem solving, and positive engagement with colleagues, partners, and service providers alike. We offer a hybrid working approach, allowing you to work from both an office location and home, once fully trained. With multiple locations across Cambridgeshire, your office base will be assigned on appointment. As Prevention and Early Intervention Services operate over 7 days a week, the Duty role will include occasional weekend and evening shifts.

As a Business Officer, you will play an essential role in our operations, driving efficiency, improving processes and enhancing service delivery within the Prevention & Early Intervention teams.

What will you be doing?

Both these roles offer the opportunity to make a real impact, with key duties that include:

  • Managing and processing incoming phone calls and correspondence with service users, their relatives and Health and Social Care professionals.
  • Interpreting information to ensure queries are directed to appropriate teams/staff.
  • Scheduling of care visits, and inputting and maintaining sensitive information across multiple databases, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
  • Processing requisitions in line with our financial guidelines and legislation.
  • Processing of send documentation within our internal systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of processes across the service.

About you

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet) and the ability to learn new IT systems effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written along with a collaborative team spirit and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • A solid understanding of GDPR regulations.

You will also be:

  • Empathetic and caring with the ability to remain emotionally resilient.
  • Flexible and able to embrace change and support new ways of working.
  • Proactive in learning and personal development.
  • Able to travel to and work within Cambridgeshire County Council offices.
