The role
An experienced Intelligence Analyst is required to work within the Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU). The role involves collecting, evaluating and analysing information from a wide range of internal and external sources to support investigations into organised crime.
Responsibilities
- Collect, collate, evaluate and analyse information from a variety of internal and external sources to investigate individuals involved in organised crime.
- Handle sensitive information and work within guidelines to develop opportunities to parallel and enhance the intelligence picture.
- Produce high quality analytical products in support of operational requirements.
- Make recommendations to direct operational teams and assist in the conviction of offenders.
- Work independently at pace and under pressure to support operational needs.
- Build relationships with partner agencies to increase knowledge and further opportunities for developing intelligence.
- Produce analytical products to an evidential standard and take an active role in peer review of products.
Work expectations
The Sensitive Intelligence Unit provides a 24/7 intelligence response. Applicants will be required to partake in an on‑call rota including some weekend work and on‑call approximately one week in every eight.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of one year working as an analyst within Law Enforcement, preferably in intelligence.
- Proficiency with Windows‐based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with communications data.
- Experience with CSAS/Chorus or equivalent customised databases.
- Well‑developed numeric, analytical and research techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible approach to work and ability to self‑motivate.
Work location
This role will be based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire with occasional travel across the region. The successful candidate will work at the designated site in Stevenage up to and including 5 days a week; occasional agile work may be required.
