Role Overview
The Regional Organised Crime Unit (ERSOU) is made up of 5 and 7 force capabilities, including the Proceeds of Crime Unit (POCU), the Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT), Asset Confiscation Enforcement (ACE) team and Serious Economic Crime Team (SECT). The unit is responsible for delivering regional level responses to serious and organised crime, and counter‑terrorism policing across the eastern region.
Responsibilities
- Manage referrals received from constituent forces and identify opportunities for asset recovery under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) and associated legislation.
- Utilise a wide range of databases, intelligence systems and research tools to develop financial intelligence, identify criminal assets and support the progression of asset recovery investigations.
- Collect, analyse and develop financial information to enhance investigative opportunities and evidential outcomes.
- Deliver specialist functions in handling and assessing sensitive intelligence reports, determining appropriate next steps within strict time constraints.

Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold or be prepared to obtain NCA accredited Financial Intelligence Officer (FIO) accreditation and maintain it through continued professional development.
- Undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) prior to commencement. The Police Corporate Vetting Unit will conduct security vetting on successful candidates, their families, and others residing at the same address.
