A vacancy has arisen for an enquiry officer.

The working hours cover 0900hrs - 1700hrs Monday to Friday, with bank holidays off.

An enquiry officer provides a professional, first‑line quality service to members of the public contacting the Police Station, primarily in person but also by telephone. You will provide advice and assistance on police‑related matters and general enquiries. Your role is also to support Police services through the operation of administrative, national, force and local computer and communication systems.

You must have good communication skills and possess the ability to remain calm and professional at all times. You should be able to obtain relevant information and quickly apply the relevant procedures to a variety of situations with appropriate tact and firmness, and sensitivity. You should be able to deal with callers who may be distressed, injured or disorientated. Keyboard skills and previous office experience are essential.
