As a Victim and Witness Care Co‑ordinator you will provide end‑to‑end support to victims of crime and antisocial behaviour from the initial report to Police or self‑referral through to the conclusion of any criminal justice process and beyond if required. You will provide victim and witness advocacy, championing the needs of the victim and witnesses and identifying and providing the necessary support where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistently excellent service to victims and witnesses, building relationships with partner agencies to meet individual needs.
  • Administer advocacy and champion victim and witness needs.
  • Manage a high workload and work under pressure while maintaining service quality.
  • Learn a wide variety of operating systems and policies.
  • Handle a large volume of telephone contact with victims and witnesses.
  • Work predominantly office‑based; work from home is possible once fully trained.
  • Operate on a rota basis 08:00 am–07:00 pm and work a Saturday every six weeks.

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in call handling with the general public.
  • Ability to work in a team, manage a high workload and perform under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn diverse operating systems and policies.
  • Understanding of issues faced by various victim groups and awareness of the Victims Code of Practice and related legislation.
  • Strong cultural awareness and/or language skills an advantage.
