Responsibilities
- Maintain, service and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic components of police vehicles and plant to agreed standards.
- Carry out safety inspections, diagnostic testing and problem solving.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns and complete documentation work including job sheets, service sheets, time sheets and stores requisitions.
- Work in a motor vehicle workshop environment; use up-to-date health & safety knowledge; and work with various vehicle model types.
- Demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, both oral and written, and work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
- Hold a full current driving licence (essential).
Qualifications and requirements
- Experience in a motor vehicle workshop environment.
- A motor vehicle related apprenticeship and a City & Guilds Motor Vehicle (Mechanical/Electrical) Technicians 1 & 2 or equivalent.
- Desirable: experience in a main dealership or similar organisation.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.
