Technical Architect – Cambridgeshire Constabulary
Permanent, Full Time, ICT.
Location: HQ, WGC, Herts, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire (BCH) – choose base (Kempston, Huntingdon, Welwyn Garden City). Travel required.
Salary: £41,487 plus Market Rate Supplement.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team within the collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire (BCH) ICT Department. This is an exciting role, often looking at the newest software and technology.
Working with the Principal Architects, you will assist in the design and implementation of new secure and resilient technical architectures for major change initiatives to support front-line policing, as well as regional and national software solutions.
You would do this by creating target architecture designs which align to customer’s business requirements, taking account of the target environments, processes, performance requirements, existing systems and services as well as any potential security related aspects. You will also provide advice and guidance to non-Enterprise Architecture delivered initiatives, acting as a consultant to local technical managers on more complex initiatives to ensure that overarching architectural principles are reflected in the designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and implementation of secure and resilient technical architectures for major change initiatives.
- Create target architecture designs aligned to business requirements and target environments.
- Provide advice and guidance to non-Enterprise Architecture initiatives.
- Act as a consultant to local technical managers on complex initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of technologies and a self-motivated desire to learn more.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a team, or to work on your own initiative.
- Proven record in technology, network or application architecture planning, design and implementation including systems integration work.
Additional Information
You will be required to pass appropriate vetting requirements and to work across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Travel is essential.
