What does the Site Officer role involve?
You will join the Estates and Facilities Team (18 people) reporting to the Estates and Facilities Technical Support Officer. The team supports the Force by undertaking security and maintenance of all sites force-wide, responds quickly to emergencies, and makes decisions in line with health and safety regulations. We are a small, collaborative team with a โCan Doโ ethos. The role will be based in Cambridge or Huntingdon and will provide support to outlying stations within Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the condition of the Forceโs estate
- Review and implement repairs via the Repairs Helpdesk; initiate repairs and/or arrange contractors
- Raise purchase orders for materials, equipment and services
- Maintain accurate and systematic records
- Manage general security of the estate (barriers, gates, access-controlled doors, CCTV, alarms)
- Health and Safety Administration
Qualifications and skills
- General handy-person skills (e.g., painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry)
- General understanding of buildings (boilers, gas, electrical, drainage, air-conditioning and air handling systems)
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and fire regulations
- Basic knowledge of COSHH and Legionella control
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work as part of a team
