An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Camera, Tickets & Collisions Unit as a Business Support Assistant (BSA) at Stevenage Police Station.
About CTC (Cameras, Ticket & Collisions): CTC manages speed enforcement on roads across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Responsibilities include processing tickets for various offences, administering traffic collision reports, prosecuting traffic offences, and assisting the public with enquiries and insurance claims. The unit aims to improve road safety by working with the Road Policing Unit and partners to change road user behaviour.
The Role: To provide administrative support to ensure efficient service delivery and contribute to Hertfordshire Constabulary's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a range of enquiries via written communication, in person, by phone, or webchat.
- Providing information to the public.
- Liaising with internal and external organizations and suppliers.
- Operating computer systems effectively.
- Providing broad administrative support, with flexibility to undertake various tasks as needed.
- This role may also support the wider CTC team with additional administrative duties.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive, flexible approach are essential.
- Experience with IT, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Experience in administrative roles.
- Experience operating office equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Hours of Work: Full-time, 37 hours/week, Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–15:30. Occasional travel within the Tri-Force area may be required, and a valid UK driving license is advantageous. Travel and additional hours are negotiable and reimbursed according to Force policy. The position is based at Stevenage Police Station (no parking facilities).
