We are currently looking for a full-time Health Care Assistant, to work as a valued member of the s3 Eating Disorder team, carrying out duties in order to meet the needs of our service users. You will be trained and supervised by registered professionals and will be expected to follow a plan of care based on the specific needs of the service users. This is a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our service providing care in a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit aged 18-65 in Addenbrookes Hospital.
As a Health Care Assistant you will work closely with the nursing team to follow a plan of care in delivering high quality, best practice care to adults with a range of complex health needs within inpatient health care settings. We are looking for caring, responsive and diverse people who share our passion to deliver our service.
Responsibilities:- Work as a valued member of the s3 Eating Disorder team and support care delivery according to a plan of care.
- Follow a plan of care to deliver high quality, best practice care to adults with a range of complex health needs within inpatient health care settings.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Experience of working within health or social care.
- Experience of caring for and supporting adults with mental health illness.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high quality care & service provision.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and as part of a team, as well as individually.
You may be required to undertake and successfully complete the new national Care Certificate within a 12 weeks' timeframe if you meet our criteria. You will receive full training and support and The Care Certificate sets out 15 national care standards that must be achieved by all health and social care staff to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide safe and excellent quality of care. It is a foundation programme which can provide the first steps to career development within the NHS.
