We're looking for an experienced Procurement Contract Manager to lead our contract governance and compliance framework, ensuring we deliver transparent, compliant, and commercially robust contract management across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in implementing the Procurement Act 2023, driving best practice and providing expert advice that supports high-quality public services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the organisation's contract management governance framework
  • Maintaining corporate contract registers and ensuring statutory compliance
  • Publishing procurement notices in line with Procurement Act 2023 requirements
  • Producing governance reports for senior leadership and Audit & Governance Committee
  • Providing expert advice on contract variations, extensions, performance and compliance
  • Monitoring supplier performance, risks and governance across the organisation
  • Working closely with colleagues across all service areas to improve contract management practices
  • Delivering training and guidance to Contract Owners across the organisation
  • Supporting strategic procurement activities and deputising for the Head of Procurement & Contracting when required

What we're looking for:

  • Significant experience in public sector procurement and contract management
  • Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contracts Regulations 2015
  • Experience managing governance, compliance and performance reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders where necessary
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex legislation clearly

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree (or equivalent experience) in Procurement, Business, Commercial Management, Law or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: CIPS or WorldCC (formerly IACCM) accreditation.
