Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Cambridge International School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Assistant Teacher to join a growing, dedicated and outstanding team of educators within a highly supportive and values-driven, but ambitious and expanding international school. The role will involve support in classrooms and also break and lunchtime supervision duties.
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the assigned Class Teacher/Subject Specialist, including planning and delivering content if necessary and liaise with relevant other staff, e.g., SEN Coordinator, Subject Specialists, if appropriate.
- Mentor and guide each student individually, both in and out of the classroom.
- Draw up agreed action plans and monitor student progress and concerns.
- Communicate as necessary with the parents of each student in the class. Set up or attend meetings with parents if needed.
- Ensure the classroom is a safe, inviting environment for all students.
- Maintain paperwork for tracking and recording purposes.
- Provide cover in the event of staff absence or unavailability.
- Complete regular playground and canteen duties to ensure student safety and happiness.
- Support the delivery and teaching of the school’s phonics programme, Read Write Inc.
- Support Slovak Language and Slovak Language lessons when necessary.
- Complete all Slovak paperwork for the assigned class as required.
