We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join our motivated and dedicated Compliance team. Leading the Access Arrangements sub-team and reporting to a Senior Compliance Manager, this is an exciting time to join us in managing a suite of processes designed to support our schools and candidates often faced with adverse circumstances, while continuing to ensure our assessment standards are maintained.

About the role

Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our access arrangements and modified papers processes, among others, you will be empowered to lead a team of Compliance Officers to work on and continuously improve our offering to centres in these areas. No two days are the same, but broadly, your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Ownership of the access arrangements process, ensuring centres are promptly informed and supported in their applications so that the relevant support can be given to candidates.
  • Being the face of Compliance for accessibility in general and access arrangements processes, assisting with related checks, appeals and complaints.
  • Leading the team through their series‑related processes, ensuring they are consistent and accurate in their approach.
  • Developing and reporting on relevant data to senior managers and stakeholders, as required.
  • Providing training and guidance to your team.
  • Developing and continually reviewing processes and related procedures alongside external guidelines to ensure they are fit for purpose and that we are always following best practice.
  • Sitting on the Stage One Appeals Panel in relation to any Compliance team process, and representing Cambridge International in Stage 2 appeals relevant to your area of work.

A bit about you

The Compliance team's best asset is its people. To be successful in the role, you will be a confident and experienced team leader and a collaborative and conscientious team player, with an eye for detail and excellent analytical and decision‑making abilities. You will also:

  • Be comfortable and experienced in assessing risk.
  • Be comfortable making decisions which do not always fit 'inside the box', using your judgement to arrive at resolutions which are both fair and defensible.
  • Be enthusiastic, self‑motivated and a great team player.
  • Be able to manage and direct a varying workload and to successfully meet multiple tight deadlines.
  • Be able to communicate information to a variety of stakeholders with diplomacy, precision and sensitivity.
  • Deliver superb customer service in all aspects of your work.
  • Have a demonstrable track record of leading a team and/or colleagues around you.
  • Be a positive person who lifts those around them.

Rewards and benefits

We will support you to be at your best in work and to live well outside of it. In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a world‑class, flexible rewards package, featuring family‑friendly and planet‑friendly benefits including:

  • Group personal pension scheme
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Life assurance up to 4 Ă— annual salary
  • Private medical and Permanent Health Insurance
  • Green travel schemes
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

We also offer flexible and hybrid working options from day one. We will consider any work arrangements if you wish to work flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability.
