To support this, we are looking to appoint an experienced and thoughtful Operations Resilience Manager to join International Property & Services at Cambridge University Press & Assessment — a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to help ensure Global Operations can anticipate and respond to operational disruption, while continuing to support our customers and product groups worldwide.
As Operations Resilience Manager, you will be responsible for developing and embedding operational resilience across Global Operations – part of our Shared Services function. This includes resilience strategy, impact assessments, emergency response, and operational risk management. You will work closely with senior leaders, Local Risk Managers (Risk Champions) and business continuity colleagues to build a consistent framework. The role also serves as a tactical-level coordination function during business continuity or emergency response situations, as required.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:- Developing and implementing Global Operations resilience strategies aligned to regulatory and organisational frameworks
- Coordinating business continuity (BC) and emergency response (ER) planning across Global Operations departments
- Planning and reviewing desktop and real-time resilience, BC and emergency response exercises
- Administering the Global Operations risk management programme, including horizon scanning and reporting
- Producing regular reports, dashboards and documentation for leadership, audits and reviews
- Providing training and awareness sessions to embed resilience capability across teams
This role offers the opportunity to work across a global shared service, influencing strategic decisions and strengthening organisational preparedness. This position has been classified as a hybrid role, typically requiring 40–60% of time spent working face-to-face at your Cambridge location. Other flexible working requests will be considered from day one.
You bring solid experience across operational resilience, business continuity, emergency planning and risk management, with the ability to interpret complex information, identify critical services and dependencies, and influence stakeholders through a collaborative, delivery‑focused approach.
About You:- Strong background in operational resilience, business continuity, emergency planning, and organisational risk approaches.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, embedding risk culture, and implementing full risk management frameworks.
- Hands-on in developing BCPs, leading desktop/BCP exercises, and driving continuous resilience improvements.
- Skilled at analysing complex data to inform decisions and strengthen resilience processes.
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels.
- Knowledge of ISO 22301; relevant risk, resilience, or BC certifications are an advantage.
