Salary: £29,700 – £38,550
Location: Coventry/Cambridge/Hybrid (at least 2 days per week in the office)
Contract: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assessment Specialist Compliance & Relations Assistant Manager to join our Assessment Specialist Management team. This role is ideal for aspiring leaders looking to make a significant impact within Assessment Management and contribute to escalated, high-stakes decisions. You will support the Compliance & Relations Manager in upholding the integrity, compliance, and quality of assessment processes, managing complex cases related to conduct, performance concerns, and non-compliance. The Assistant Manager acts as a deputy, enabling strategic focus while leading a sub-team to deliver high standards of service and compliance from our Assessors.
Rarely are two days the same, but, broadly, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, organise, and motivate a team of Assessment Specialist Compliance & Relations Administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Oversee the allocation, investigation, and resolution of escalated Assessment Specialist cases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Own decisions on complex or sensitive cases, escalating to the Compliance & Relations Manager when necessary.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of compliance processes, team workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members, and deliver training on best practices.
- Monitor and manage risks, ensuring business continuity and assessment integrity.
- Collaborate with project groups to shape policies and standard terms for assessment specialists to meet legal requirements.
- Prepare regular reports and communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders.
This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. About You
To be successful in the role, you will be a confident and experienced team leader and a collaborative and conscientious team player, with an eye for detail and excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
You also ideally have:
- Advanced understanding of regulatory compliance, assessment processes, and employment law.
- Experience supervising and investigating within a regulated or legal environment.
- Strong team leadership skills, able to motivate and develop team members while fostering a positive culture.
- Excellent organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new digital systems.
- Ability to manage confidential and complex matters with tact and sensitivity.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and able to deliver high standards of customer service.
- Experience in conducting investigations and building productive stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge of assessment models and the competencies required for assessment specialists is preferable.
