Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2‑3 days per week in the office minimum)

About The RoleWe are looking for a research intern with an interest in language and equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project that explores the use of gender‑inclusive language across different contexts.
- Review literature and trends in relation to gender‑inclusive language
- Support with study administration (e.g. consent forms and participant recruitment)
- Support with data collection
- Assist with data analysis and/or interpretation
- Share project updates and findings
- Contribute to writing up the research
We will prefer candidates who are graduates or students studying towards an undergraduate qualification in MFLs, English Literature and/or Language, Education, Psychology, or another Social Science.
You will have experience or a keen interest in research in education and equality, diversity and inclusion, particularly issues relating to gender and/or language.
To be successful in this role, the following skills, values and behaviours are desirable:
- Team player who can deliver tasks on time
- Ability to analyse and interpret different types of information
- Some awareness of current discussions around gender and language, or an interest in learning about this area
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- The ability to review academic literature
- Interest in contributing to the design and delivery of research projects
- A good command of a language other than English would be an asset, but it is not essential

- 4th – 15th May: You can expect to hear from us with an application update, and if you’re successful, be invited to interview.
- 18th – 29th May: You can expect an update on your interview, if you’re successful you will receive a placement offer. We will ask for acceptance responses by 29th May.
- 13th July: Programme starts.
- 4th September: Programme finishes.
