An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Assessment Services team for an Assessment Manager. As Assessment Manager you will use your flair for innovative and forward-thinking approaches to manage the production of high-quality assessment content and development of new assessment products.

About the role
Assessment Managers are responsible for managing the production of test content and are involved in a wide range of assessment processes from test design to analysing marking and results. The role is an excellent opportunity for experienced ESOL/EFL professionals with a keen interest in assessment.
The principal accountabilities are:

managing teams of test material writers, and the editing and proofreading of test materials
-
developing and updating key documentation
-
carrying out assessment-related administrative responsibilities
-
contributing to increases in efficiency and effectiveness and initiating and/or contributing to research
-
participating in exam reviews and in the development of new testing services including automated digital assessment products.

About you
You will bring a recognised entry-level EFL/ESOL teaching qualification, such as the Cambridge CELTA or equivalent, or significant experience working for an exam board in exam processing and production. You have several years of EFL/ESOL teaching and/or assessment experience—ideally including time overseas and preparing candidates for Cambridge English exams—or equivalent experience in exam development. You are confident in producing and evaluating learning materials, with a strong interest in educational assessment and previous involvement in assessment-related work.
Your interpersonal and people management skills are excellent, complemented by strong organisational, administrative, and planning abilities. You have a keen eye for detail, including proofreading, and can evaluate texts and exam questions for suitability. Clear and effective written and verbal communication is essential, as is flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

an interest in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) particularly English for healthcare professionals

good presentation skills – possesses the skills to be an effective and credible presenter at conferences and other events

Master\’s degree in relevant field

experience of acting as a Cambridge English examiner (speaking or writing tests)

experience of working in a complex and busy office environment

administrative experience.
