Job overview: Working within a complex environment, the post holder has responsibility for managing, tracking and navigating RTT pathways.

Main duties of the job:

  • Validating, amending and improving data quality in relation to pathways from initial referral, through diagnostics to completion of patient’s episode.
  • Liaising and co-coordinating with all involved in the patient’s management.
  • Accessing and updating a range of Trust databases, ensuring that national and local targets are met and reported on at the divisional and relevant PTLs.

Person specification:

  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths & English or Equivalent. Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent professional experience. Relevant training on RTT pathway management.
  • Experience: Experience of working within a healthcare setting. Prioritising, planning and organising own and others tasks. Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations. Data entry experience and documentation. Previous experience of working in NHS. Previous experience of working with medical records. Experience of working with EPIC hospital system. Experience of working with CHEQs. Experience of presenting data and information to various stakeholders or team members.
  • Knowledge: Confidentiality and data protection processes and procedures. Good working knowledge of office procedures and all Microsoft office packages. Awareness of NHS targets and Trust priorities. Knowledge of RTT targets. Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of priorities. Knowledge of Trust information systems. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Skills: Ability to manage/work as part of a team. Excellent communication skills including telephone, email, face to face. Ability to organise and manage own time and others to keep to deadlines. Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously. Excellent IT skills – ability to use Microsoft office applications including spreadsheet and email. Willing to take on/learn new skills. Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to store and safeguard confidential documents. Able to negotiate and develop good working relationships. Ability to adapt and embrace change. To be flexible in response to Service needs. Ability to think laterally and an innovative approach to problem solving.
