Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in General Surgery (Colorectal) based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job:
The successful post holders will undertake duties as required by the demands of the Colorectal Unit service, including clinical work, emergency and elective surgery within the colorectal firm, ward work, outpatient clinics and other duties as required by consultants.
Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition. Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
The work will be shared by five other senior colorectal trainees and the post holder. The post holder will be expected to carry out some degree of clinical work independently and one clinical fellow will participate in the middle grade general surgery on-call rota. All posts offer significant opportunities for subspecialist training, audit and clinical research within the department of colorectal surgery.

Person specification:
- Completion of a Core Surgical Programme for Specialty Training or equivalent previous experience in Colorectal Surgery
- Completion of Foundation Competencies
- Competence in pre-operative and post-operative management of general surgical patients
- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
