An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacist to join the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Pharmacy Team.

The role will equip you with new skills and knowledge around infection management, with the opportunity to be involved in practice-based research. You will work closely with Microbiology and Infectious Diseases colleagues and actively contribute to the management of patients with infections, through attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical ward rounds.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Antimicrobial Pharmacists, Antimicrobial Pharmacy Technician, Infectious Diseases team and Microbiologists to help provide a specialist clinical service for managing patients with confirmed or suspected infections, including provision of advice regarding assessing appropriateness of antimicrobial therapy, therapeutic drug monitoring and IV to oral switches.You will also be responsible for the provision of an advanced specialist clinical pharmacy service to the infectious diseases ward, where patients with complex infections are managed, including bone and joint infections, infective endocarditis, bacteraemias, TB and HIV.

You will also contribute actively on the implementation of the Trust’s antimicrobial stewardship strategy, the delivery of COVID-19 and influenza patient vaccination programmes, national AMS initiatives such as CQUINs, and regional projects., Clinical Pharmacist (Specialist) – Antimicrobial Stewardship & Infectious Diseases

  • To provide an advanced a specialist Clinical Pharmacy service to the infectious diseases ward.

  • To deliver designated performance objectives specific to AMS and Infectious Diseases

  • Deliver the additional duties described in Appendix 1
