The Faculty of History has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Undergraduate Team office as Undergraduate Teaching Administrator. You will join our friendly and supportive undergraduate team, providing advice and support to academic staff and administrative colleagues. The role is full-time and has specific responsibility for the joint honours courses in History and Politics and History and Modern Languages and first year single honours History students.

The Faculty of History\’s 100 academic staff constitute one of the largest and best history departments in the world. Over 600 undergraduates study History at Cambridge.

You will be the first point of contact and a central source of information for a wide range of people including for all aspects of the History and Politics Tripos and Part IA of the Historical Tripos. The role involves working closely and co-operatively with administrative and academic colleagues both in the Faculty and in the Faculties of Human, Social and Political Sciences and Medieval and Modern Languages and Linguistics, and acting as the first point of contact for students\’ Directors of Studies based in colleges.

We are looking for a flexible, resourceful individual who has excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Experience of working in a Higher Education environment would be desirable but more important is the ability to learn new skills and develop a knowledge of University/Departmental policies in order to be able to offer advice to others as required.

You will be organised and be able to prioritise your own workload, manage tight deadlines, and work independently using your own initiative, but you will know when to refer matters to others. We are looking for someone who will be able to contribute actively as a member of a team, and will build positive working relationships within the Department and University.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative experience to develop new skills in a varied and busy position and to excel in this important role.
