Kettle\’s Yard is recruiting Learning Hosts to support the delivery of our innovative Learning and Community programme. Learning Hosts welcome school, college and community groups to the house and gallery, as well as participants for events and workshops. They ensure Learning and Community activities are safe, engaging, accessible and inspiring.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome groups to the house and gallery and support participation in events and workshops.
  • Contribute to delivering safe, engaging and accessible learning experiences.
  • Work at our Castle Street location and offsite in community settings.
  • Learn on the job through research and active engagement with the collection and exhibitions.
  • Report to the Community Manager and work as part of the Learning & Community team; liaise closely with the Learning and Engagement Coordinator.

Requirements / Qualities

  • Friendly, engaging, with an interest in creative learning.
  • No prior knowledge of Kettle\’s Yard history or collection is necessary; training will be provided.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Available for irregular hours; hours are agreed in advance and may include weekends and occasional evenings.
  • Particularly available on school visit days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

Conditions and Benefits

  • Role is on a zero-hour basis due to irregular visits, projects and sessions; hours will be scheduled in advance.
  • Pay: base salary plus an additional 2.5% supplement until the Cambridge Pay Review Project concludes.
  • Fixed-term: funds are available for 1 year in the first instance.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (enhanced with children\’s barred list) check required after offer.
