Job Summary:
Wok & Flame is hiring skilled Line Cooks with experience using a wok. We are a fast-paced halal Chinese kitchen focused on fresh, flavorful meals. The ideal candidate must be able to cook efficiently under pressure, maintain food safety standards, and consistently deliver quality dishes using traditional wok techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Cook a variety of menu items using a wok, including stir-fries, fried rice, and noodles.
Follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines.
Set up and stock your workstation with ingredients, sauces, and supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of your cooking area throughout the shift.
Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature and meets presentation standards.
Communicate clearly with other line cooks, prep staff, and cashiers.
Assist with daily prep duties such as chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and mixing sauces.
Follow kitchen closing and cleaning procedures.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a line cook in a high-volume kitchen.
Must have hands-on experience using a wok in a commercial setting.
Strong understanding of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy kitchen.
Able to work evenings, weekends, and peak service hours.
Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
