Cambridge Regional College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in English to join our Creative Department.

The successful candidate will deliver GCSE English from Entry Level through Level 2, supporting learners' achievement, progression and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across GCSE English programmes.
  • Teach learners from Entry Level through to Level 2.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Support students to achieve their qualifications and develop their literacy skills.
  • Contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of programmes and course materials.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities and support the growth of the English provision within the Creative Department.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes and contribute to College improvement initiatives.
  • Provide pastoral and academic support to learners, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • Hold a degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
  • Possess a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • Have experience teaching GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be passionate about helping learners achieve their goals and realise their potential.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and curriculum innovation.
