Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Mentor to join our Service Industries team at our Cambridge Campus. You will join us on a full time (37 hours), term time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £21,785 per annum, equivalent to a full year salary of £24,577 per annum, plus staff benefits.

About the role

The primary purpose of this job role is to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through their development of greater independence. The primary duties of this role are to work in collaboration with the subject lecturing staff and assessors, under the direction of the Learning Support Manager, or their delegate, within a wide variety of learning environments and situations.

Support students to access these curriculums both within and outside of a classroom environment including:

  • reading out of materials
  • note taking
  • word processing
  • using enabling technologies
  • definition of language
  • other metacognitive skills

Qualifications / Requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent at grade C or 4
  • Recent and demonstrable experience of supporting people with special education needs.
