Role Overview
Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Learner Support Mentor (LSMs) to join our 14-19 Alternative Learning Provision team. Our Support Assistants work across both our campuses, Cambridge and Huntingdon Campus. The position is for 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to support students either in core lessons, one-to-one or in small groups and vocational sessions. In addition, our LSMs ensure appropriate targets relating to learning are set and monitored, updated and signed off when necessary to maintain high standards of students' achievement and behaviours, and provide guidance and support to ensure students achieve in their pathway.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have experience of working with young people in an education setting or similar, and experience of working with young people who may have challenging behaviours or experienced difficulties with their mental health. You will also be required to have a GCSE grade C/4 qualification in English and Maths / or a Level 2 in Functional Skills English and Maths. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, the ability to work with a range of young people, and able to work flexibly, independently and part of a team.
