Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to join our Facilities team at our Huntingdon Campus.
You will join us on a full time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £25,192 per annum, plus staff benefits.

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities & Estates team, reporting to the Estates Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our college campuses are well-maintained, safe, and accessible for students, staff, and visitors.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and takes initiative.
Key responsibilities
- General maintenance
- Support the upkeep of buildings, furniture and equipment.
- Monitor heating and lighting systems, reporting faults as needed.
- Assist with post and deliveries, emergency cover, and key management.
- Conduct weekly water flushing and assist with minibus cleaning.
- Supervise contractors and tradespeople on site.
- Keep outdoor areas clean and safe, including snow/ice removal.
What we are looking for in our role
We are looking for someone with experience in caretaking or a similar role, practical maintenance skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach, a strong commitment to health and safety, and the flexibility to respond to emergencies and seasonal demands.
