We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Lecturer in English to teach GCSE English/Functional Skills to learners from Entry Level to Level 2. This is an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of learners across our construction department, helping them develop the communication, analytical and writing skills that will underpin their future study, training and employment. You will deliver engaging English teaching to learners on a variety of vocational pathways. Your lessons will focus on building confidence, strengthening core skills, and supporting students to achieve their full potential. Some learners will be working toward improving previous grades, while others will be developing their English skills for the first time in a college setting.

What you'll do:

  • Teach English to groups across vocational areas within construction
  • Plan and deliver high quality, accessible lessons that motivate and challenge learners
  • Support students with a range of starting points and learning needs
  • Embed English skills in meaningful, real world and vocational contexts
  • Track progress, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to positive outcomes

  • Strong subject knowledge in English (Level 3 minimum; degree desirable)
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
