Cambridge Regional College is delighted to offer three paid internship opportunities, funded through the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) Internship Programme.

These six-week internships provide an excellent opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, develop employability skills, and make a real difference within one of the region's leading further education colleges.

Successful interns will receive support, training and mentoring throughout the programme. At the end of the internship, individuals who demonstrate the required skills, commitment and potential will be encouraged to apply for available permanent vacancies within the college.

Learning Support Mentor Internships (2 Positions)

Location: Cambridge Regional College
Duration: 6 weeks (paid internship)
Hours: To be agreed

About the Role

As a Learning Support Mentor Intern, you will work alongside our experienced Learning Support team to help students achieve their full potential.

You will support students in lessons and around campus, helping them to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed in education and employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students during lessons and learning activities.
  • Assist learners with additional learning needs.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
  • Help students access learning resources and college facilities.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and Learning Support Mentors.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, reliability and a willingness to learn.
  • An interest in education, learning support, youth work or helping others.
  • No previous experience required as training and support will be provided.

These internships are funded through the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) Internship Programme. Applicants must meet the programme eligibility criteria, including:

  • Being aged 16 or over.
  • Having the right to work in the UK.
  • Not currently being in employment, education or training.
