At Cambridge Regional College, we are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and inspiring individual to join us as an Assistant Head of Department within our Service Industries, Business and Travel faculty.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding lecturer who is ready to broaden their impact – combining high-quality teaching with departmental leadership and staff development responsibilities.
What You\’ll Do:
As a Lecturer, you will:

Deliver exceptional, student-focused teaching within the department.

Provide engaging and inclusive learning experiences that inspire learners to succeed.

Play a key role in course planning, design, and assessment.

Support learners through dedicated tutorial sessions and academic guidance.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across teaching, support, and technical teams to deliver a coordinated, high-quality programme.
As Assistant Head of Department, you will:

Support the Head of Department in the smooth running of the curriculum area.

Assist with the creation of timetables that ensure excellent learning coverage.

Conduct 1:1 meetings to monitor performance, offer support, and agree on targets.

Lead on staff appraisals for designated team members.

Organise and manage the department\’s teaching cover rota.
-
Represent the department at directorate meetings and deputise for the Head of Department when required.
