Estimating Mobilisation Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a commercially minded Estimating Mobilisation Engineer to play a key role in driving business growth through accurate, competitive and innovative pricing solutions.

Working closely with Business Development, Bid Management, Finance and Operations teams, you will take ownership of the estimating function, supporting tender submissions, commercial decision-making and successful contract mobilisation. You will act as the subject matter expert for estimating and pricing, helping to shape commercial strategy and improve bid performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, competitive and commercially robust pricing for new business opportunities and contract renewals.
  • Work closely with Bid and Business Development teams to maximise tender success and support revenue growth.
  • Review tender requirements and ensure all submissions are compliant with client specifications.
  • Develop pricing models, tools and methodologies that improve consistency, efficiency and profitability.
  • Challenge operational delivery models to ensure solutions are commercially viable and deliver value.
  • Support client discussions, tender clarifications and commercial negotiations where required.
  • Analyse successful and unsuccessful bids to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Operations and Mobilisation teams to ensure successful contract implementation.
  • Maintain pricing governance, documentation and reporting to support informed business decision‑making.
  • Act as the organisation's subject matter expert for estimating, pricing and commercial analysis.

Location:

London Area - with a preference to be based in or around London. Role will include regular travel to customer sites across London, the South East and wider UK locations.

Hours of Work:

Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours.

Salary

Up to £55,000 plus bonus scheme, car allowance.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in estimating, pricing, bid management, commercial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop accurate, competitive and profitable pricing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and build strong working relationships.
  • A highly analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data, identify gaps and solve complex problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, compliant tender submissions.
  • A collaborative, hands‑on approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude, bringing fresh ideas and a continuous improvement mindset.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Facilities Management (FM), Engineering, Property, Hospitality or another service‑led environment.
  • Asset verification, asset identification or lifecycle data analysis.
  • SFG20 and planned maintenance methodologies.
  • Commercial tendering, pricing documentation and bid submissions.
  • Customer‑facing presentations, tender clarifications and commercial discussions.
  • Data analysis, commercial modelling and identifying operational efficiencies.
  • Mobile engineering, technical services or engineering‑based environments.
