Cambridge International School, Bratislava, is looking for an experienced, registered School Psychologist to join our School Support Team. You will play a central role in safeguarding the mental health and well-being of our pupils, supporting teachers and parents, and contributing to a positive whole-school culture. You will work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, form teachers and the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counselling for pupils, including stress management, personal difficulties, adapting to school, and career guidance.
  • Conduct preventive activities such as homeroom sessions and programmes focused on building class cohesion, developing empathy and preventing risky behaviour.
  • Perform diagnostic activities, assess classroom environment, identify pupils' specific educational or emotional needs, and refer for comprehensive assessment when required.
  • Offer intervention and crisis support, including immediate assistance in sudden psychological or stressful situations and constructive conflict resolution.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions as part of the School Support Team.
  • Support the safeguarding process in line with the school's Safeguarding Policy and Slovak child-protection legislation.
  • Maintain professional documentation in compliance with Act No. 242/2025 Coll. on Psychological Activity.
  • Participate in the school's well-being strategy and continuous improvement of pastoral care.

Requirements for the employee

  • University education (Master's degree) or Postgraduate (Doctorate).
  • Microsoft Office 365 – Advanced.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the position/sector.
  • Registration with the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists and a valid licence to provide psychological activity under Act No. 242/2025 Coll.
  • Strong working knowledge of Slovak educational and child-protection legislation (Acts 138/2019, 245/2008, 305/2005, 242/2025 Coll.) and familiarity with international safeguarding standards (KCSIE).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team-working skills, with a calm and confident professional manner.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
