As Spa Duty Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the guest experience from the moment the spa opens its doors. You will curate a calm, elevated and intuitive guest experience rooted in the Joy of Wellbeing, ensuring a sense of ease, balance and quiet pleasure is woven seamlessly through every interaction.
From pre‑opening through to ongoing operations, you will lead a team of skilled wellness professionals, overseeing programming and standards to ensure the wellness offering remains distinctive, considered and authentically aligned with Cambridge House.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the pre‑opening planning, setup and launch of all wellness facilities alongside the Director of Wellbeing and Assistant Director of Wellbeing, which will include swimming pool, bath house, treatment rooms, state‑of‑the‑art gym and studios.
- Play a key role in delivering the Auberge “Joy of Wellbeing” philosophy; creating intentional, joyful, and deeply human wellness experiences.
- Ensure the facilities are fully aligned with the Cambridge House vision, operationally sound and ready to deliver an exceptional guest experience from opening day.
- Oversee the daily operation of the spa and fitness areas, ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and ambience, and creating a calm, welcoming environment that encourages guests to slow down and feel genuinely cared for.
- Assist with curating a thoughtful menu of treatments, therapies and wellness experiences, combining innovation with trusted, timeless practices, and regularly reviewing offerings to ensure they remain relevant, credible and aligned with guest expectations.
- Assist with recruiting, training and leading a team of wellness and spa team members, creating a professional, supportive and highly skilled team, setting clear service standards and nurturing pride, confidence and consistency in delivery.
- Ensure each guest experience is personalised, intuitive and delivered with warmth, discretion and attention to detail, recognising individual needs and preferences and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Engineering, building strong working relationships to ensure wellness experiences are seamlessly integrated into the wider guest journey and supported by clear communication and shared standards.
- Manage relationships with external wellness partners, selecting collaborators who reflect the values of Cambridge House and with the Joy of Wellbeing philosophy.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety and regulatory standards, maintaining robust procedures and a strong culture of care for guests and team members alike.
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience leading spa or wellness operations within a luxury hotel, private members’ club or high‑end wellness destination.
- Strong understanding of holistic wellbeing, spa operations, fitness and guest experience design.
- Industry relevant qualifications (Degree, HND or Advanced GNVQ).
- Experience in training, systems, processes and team support.
- Confident in managing operations, guest experience and health & safety.
- Strong technical knowledge of massage therapies, including Swedish, Deep Tissue and Prenatal treatments.
- Calm, confident leadership style with a genuine passion for service and care.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Detail‑driven, intuitive and naturally attentive.
