Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Security in the day‑to‑day orchestration of all security operations across Cambridge House, ensuring the building feels both protected and effortlessly welcoming.
  • Lead the daily operation of the Security department, ensuring standards are delivered with professionalism, quiet confidence, discretion and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Maintain a visible and reassuring presence throughout the House, including public areas and external entrances, responding swiftly, calmly and with considered judgment to operational requirements.
  • Oversee all CCTV, access control, key control and incident management procedures in line with company and legal requirements, maintaining order with precision and care.
  • Conduct regular security patrols across guest areas, back of house spaces and the historic fabric of the property, moving through the building with awareness, attentiveness and respect for its character, identifying and addressing potential risks proactively.
  • Work closely with operational departments to ensure security procedures complement the guest journey seamlessly and discreetly, enhancing rather than interrupting the rhythm of service.
  • Support the planning and delivery of high‑profile guests and events, ensuring confidentiality, elegance and service excellence are maintained throughout every moment.
  • Ensure all fire life safety procedures, emergency response plans and evacuation processes are fully implemented and regularly reviewed, safeguarding both people and place with diligence and calm readiness.
  • Complete detailed incident investigations and produce clear, accurate and timely reports, capturing events with clarity, fairness and professionalism.
  • Build strong working relationships with local authorities, emergency services and external partners where required, acting as a steady and trusted point of contact.
  • Monitor departmental rotas and scheduling requirements to ensure effective operational coverage, balancing structure with the natural flow of the hotel.
  • Support the onboarding and ongoing development of Security team members, creating a grounded, supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • Maintain full compliance with all health and safety legislations, company policies and luxury hospitality standards, ensuring the property remains both compliant and composed.
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the hotel, demonstrating integrity, respect and collaboration in every interaction, helping to shape the quiet rhythm and character of Cambridge House.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Security Manager or senior supervisory security position within a luxury hotel, with a strong appreciation for discretion, guest privacy and service excellence.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and accompanying First Aid qualification is required.
  • Strong understanding of hotel security operations, fire life safety procedures and incident management.
  • Calm and composed approach when working under pressure or responding to emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all departments.
  • Confident using CCTV, access control and security reporting systems.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
