As Assistant Director of Housekeeping at Cambridge House, your meticulous eye for detail, thoughtful leadership, and refined operational expertise will flourish as you work alongside the Director of Housekeeping to shape the seamless organisation and performance of the department. You will play a pivotal role in the pre-opening journey, helping to craft detailed procedures, training programmes and impeccable service standards, while ensuring the House opens to the highest level of presentation and cleanliness. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Housekeeping in the overall management of the department, ensuring operational excellence across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
  • Play an integral role in the pre-opening journey, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, creating training initiatives and the implementation of impeccable housekeeping standards.
  • Oversee the daily rhythm of housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces consistently embody the elegant, refined and residential charm of Cambridge House.
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals and special requests to create bespoke guest experiences aligned with our values.
  • Assist the Director of Housekeeping with recruitment, onboarding, continuous luxury service training and performance reviews for the housekeeping team.
  • Assist in monitoring quality, productivity and staffing levels, ensuring efficient and intuitive scheduling that aligns seamlessly with the evolving needs of the business.
  • Conduct meticulous inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, addressing any issues promptly with care, precision and a consistently discerning eye for excellence.
  • Work closely with the Rooms and Engineering teams to ensure clear and proactive communication regarding room status, maintenance requirements, guest requests and preferences and the presentation of back-of-house spaces.
  • Support the management of inventory and stock control, encouraging mindful and efficient use of resources while maintaining exceptional standards throughout.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health, safety and hygiene at all times, ensuring a secure, pristine and beautifully maintained environment for guests and colleagues alike.
  • Act as a confident departmental leader in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping, providing calm guidance, decisive direction and unwavering operational support.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior housekeeping leadership role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong organisational and operational management skills with exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • A calm, professional leadership style with the ability to motivate and support the team.
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance, health & safety and housekeeping best practices.
  • Commercial awareness, with experience managing labour cost, stock and budgets.
