Purchasing Manager at Cambridge House, Auberge Collection – a luxury Mayfair landmark entering the 2026 season. This role shapes the procurement foundation for a boutique hotel that blends heritage, design, and modern comfort.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage the procurement strategy for all categories (F&B, amenities, linen, engineering supplies, furniture & fixtures, non‑food operational supplies) aligned with the hotel’s luxury positioning.
- Source, evaluate and contract suppliers ensuring quality, sustainability, ethical practices and cost‑effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and supplier agreements for best value, high standards, reliability and logistics.
- Lead stock and inventory management: establish par levels, oversee storeroom operations, receiving, storage, distribution and regular stock audits.
- Forecast demand across departments in collaboration with Heads of Departments to ensure uninterrupted service and minimise waste.
- Monitor market trends (luxury, design, sustainable sourcing) and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all purchasing procedures, systems, controls and documentation are compliant with regulatory requirements (e.g. food safety, health & safety) and aligned with financial policies.
- Build, lead, mentor and develop a purchasing team: recruitment, training, performance reviews and continual improvement.
- Partner with Finance to manage budgets, cost savings, supplier invoicing and accurate cost‑of‑goods reporting.
- Contribute positively to the guest experience through quality of room amenities, linen feel and consistency of F&B supplies.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years in purchasing/procurement within luxury hospitality, ideally in high‑end London hotels.
- Experience across multiple categories (F&B, non‑food, capital goods, FF&E).
- Strong negotiation skills, securing premium quality at competitive cost.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, forecasting skills; comfortable under pressure with tight deadlines during pre‑opening.
- Experience with purchasing or inventory management systems and supplier performance tools.
- Detail‑oriented focus on quality, presentation, sustainability, compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative with internal departments and supplier partners.
- Strategic mindset, problem solver, high integrity, ownership.
- Formal qualifications such as CIPS desirable but not mandatory.
