The Opportunity
As a Senior Research Analyst specifically serving our US-based clients, you will work remotely within the UK during afternoons and evenings [from 14:30 to 23:00 GMT/BST].
Affiliated to our Research Centre of Excellence based in Birmingham, UK, you will support the creation and delivery of research outputs across multiple projects, specifically for US-based clients. You will do this by conducting high-quality desk-based secondary research, and summarising, analysing and explaining your findings instantly and directly to clients.
What you will be doing
- Secondary research: Identifying and accessing relevant data sources, including monitoring news and social media, searching specialist pipeline, trial and market access databases. Covering investor/earnings calls, for insights on changes to the competitive landscape, to update and inform changes to your assigned projects. Developing expert-level understanding on therapeutic areas to curate background material.
- Content development: Gathering and analysing research to prepare time-sensitive notifications on relevant developments within a therapeutic area. Contribute and develop content as part of PowerPoint reports for clients which are concise and easy-to-navigate, covering key findings to support project deliverables.
- Primary research support: Establishing baseline knowledge of the key intelligence topic to support the development of primary research guides.
- Research planning: Creating or proposing robust research plans, including key milestones and deliverables, to support the successful delivery of client projects.
- Consulting support: Supporting, and where required, leading activities relating to in-person conferences attended by consulting colleagues, through contributing to the creation of pre- and post-conference materials, and business development through researching and developing analyses to support proposals for new client work.
- Project team and client interaction: Attending internal meetings to discuss project progress and external meetings with US-based clients to directly provide real-time analysis and explanation of research findings.
- Quality control and colleague development: Peer reviewing work and coaching and supporting junior colleagues, to ensure are of the highest quality.
- Continuous improvement: Using expert knowledge and keeping abreast of developments to both leverage existing data sources and recommend better sources to enhance the quality of research outputs.
Who will thrive in this role
To succeed as a Life Sciences Research Analyst, you will need have a Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in life sciences. You will have previous experience in a similar role conducting scientific research and insight generation and have developed the following capabilities and skills over 2-3 years.

- IT skills across the Microsoft suite [especially Excel and PowerPoint] and databases
- Planning, organising and prioritisation skills to successfully create research plans, complete deliverables within a fast-paced reactive environment and achieve milestones in a timely/punctual manner
- Written and verbal communication skills to develop impactful and user-friendly client-ready materials and collaborate effectively with others
- Interpersonal skills to interact with clients professionally and explain technical analyses in an easy-to-understand manner
- Coaching and mentoring skills to support the development of junior colleagues

CHR\’s head office is in Shoreditch, London. We offer a collaborative and stimulating environment with an opportunity to make and influence decisions that will drive CHR forward, as well as a competitive salary and benefits package that includes:
- £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Annual bonus
- 25 days holiday per year (with an additional day per year of service, up to 30 days) plus all bank/public holidays and Christmas/New Year closure
