Job Details:
- Performs general law enforcement duties in the protection of persons and property; enforcing applicable policies, rules and regulations of Cambridge Health Alliance and applicable federal, state and local laws, to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
- Investigates crimes and other violations of Massachusetts laws and ordinances.
- Makes arrests and sets up appropriate complaints for the courts for those in violation of the law.
- Assists in the escorting of deceased patients.
- Observes and detains patients who are in crisis and deemed in need of special services.
- Investigates individuals or situations that appear to be of a suspicious nature.
- Provides safety escorts as needed.
- Provides for the safety and security of all patients, visitors and staff.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or two years of prior law enforcement experience, or two years of military experience with an honorable discharge.
- One year prior experience in security, loss prevention and/or criminal justice.
- Basic knowledge of security and law enforcement practices.
- Able to produce concise, accurate and well written reports.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts drivers license.
- CPR Certificate/First Responder Certificate.
- All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job specific physical agility test.
