The Cardiovascular Department at Cambridge Health Alliance provides a full range of tests to evaluate the health of a patient's heart and blood vessels. As an Echocardiography Accredited Facility, the lab utilizes state‑of‑the‑art equipment for services including Echocardiograms, Electrocardiograms (EKG), various stress tests, and vascular testing. The lab also offers Holter and Cardiac event monitors and runs a device clinic for in‑person and remote checks on pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders. These services are available at two locations, Cambridge Hospital and Everett Hospital.

Summary

Performs a broad spectrum of non‑invasive cardiovascular tests to provide medical specialists with data for diagnostic purposes. Performs a wide range of cardiovascular non‑invasive tests according to an established protocol, in a manner that effectively promotes and supports the efficient operation of the department, including:

  • Cardiovascular 2‑D imaging
  • Color flow
  • Spectral display
  • Continuous and pulsed wave Doppler
  • Exercise / pharmacologic stress
  • Harmonics and contrast imaging
  • Holter scanning

Recognizes adequate vs inadequate data collection, and prepares preliminary reports in a form presentable for physician interpretation. Recognizes abnormalities and life‑threatening findings and reports to physician or nursing unit as indicated. Documents notification as part of Quality Improvement activities.

Requirements

Education/Training: Accredited Allied Health Program, registry eligible

Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Healthcare Provider

Work Experience: Previous clinical background required
