Skills and Experience * Six Sigma black belt Team R&D Engineering Location Cambridge Contract Permanent (Full time or part time) About CGD A spin‑out of the University of Cambridge, CGD is a fabless semiconductor company that develops energy‑efficient GaN‑based power devices to make greener electronics possible. The global power semiconductor market is expected to exceed $50BN. CGD has secured seed, Series A and B funding, and four projects funded by iUK, BEIS and the EU. The team’s technical and commercial expertise has been fundamental in early market traction of our proprietary technology. We pursue innovation to address the world’s most significant challenges—energy consumption and CO₂ emissions—by delivering sustainable power solutions. With a mindset of pushing semiconductor limits and an outstanding team of worldwide experts, we engineer green solutions that respect natural resources and support a more sustainable future. The Opportunity This is an amazing opportunity to join CGD at an early stage and lead the test and reliability engineering team as it grows in size and capability. The team is responsible for the test, characterisation, and reliability of CGD’s leading‑edge GaN products. The Senior Test and Reliability Manager will manage team day‑to‑day operations, provide technical and personal leadership, and serve as a senior engineer. As line manager and senior engineer, you will work as a hands‑on member while leading other engineers, collaborating with other CGD groups to ensure timely delivery of projects. The role offers a chance to shape industry direction as GaN technology transitions to high‑volume production, impacting future test standards through CGD’s involvement with the JEDEC group. You will report directly to the VP R&D and work closely with senior management daily. The role is based at our office and lab in Cambridge, UK, with occasional travel required.
