Our client is a leading advisory and consulting firm seeking an exceptional senior manager level candidate with vast experience in technology, digital, AI, and M&A to advise on a range of technology-focused M&A projects relating to integration, separation, joint ventures, and more. The role presents an opportunity to fast-track career growth in a ‘Technology in M&A’ market that has witnessed unprecedented activity in the post-COVID era. The Technology team within our client's Deals practice has grown significantly and is on track to double in size again over the next 3 years. They deliver value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights, and executing with investor-grade rigour.
In this position, they are seeking technology professionals who understand the cost of technology budgets and the finance numbers that investors will look at. This is key! Secondly, our client is seeking someone ideally with private equity experience, as much of the work they do is with PE clients. The ability to understand how PE clients think will be a huge advantage in this role. Alternatively, experience across corporates is a must. Thirdly, vast experience of the M&A lifecycle is essential, whether it be leading tech-focused integrations, separations, joint ventures, value creation, or other. Experience implementing AI systems that have added value to a client's PnL will be extremely valuable. A high percentage of our client's project work in this team is SAP M&A related.
Responsibilities:
- Build deep client relationships and be seen as the 'go to' person and a trusted advisor by senior executives.
- Support the identification, pursuit, and conversion of a pipeline of business development opportunities.
- Actively develop own knowledge and expertise in chosen proposition(s) and sector of choice.
- Lead the design of complex engagements and take responsibility for leading day-to-day delivery.
- Undertake scoping and fee negotiation on standard engagements.
- Proactively develop thought leadership.
- Build and maintain a strong internal firm and external network.
- Understand risk and ensure that the Firm's risk management frameworks are adhered to.
- Inspire, motivate, coach, and develop project team members and appraisees, providing constructive 360-degree feedback.
- Identify, design, and lead critical complex practice development initiatives, coordinating other members of the team.
Requirements:
- A track record of leading complex ERP projects with multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting, corporate, or public sector environment will be considered.
- Understanding of general business processes and ERP modules such as Procurement, Material Management, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Finance, and controlling.
- Candidates with experience in leading/handling data migration projects will be given preference.
- Other responsibilities include managing or supporting high-value business development activities with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrable ability to build and commercialise relationships with senior executives.
- Ability to talk credibly with C-level clients on key issues and strategic considerations facing the industry.
- Leading and supporting clients on acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and other transactions with a focus on implementation, separation, and integration of an ERP solution.
- Understanding of the deal lifecycle and the role of IT within it – from due diligence to concluding transitional service agreements.
- Developing additional products and potential revenue streams focused on ERP-based solutions in transactions.
- Expanding ERP knowledge, capabilities, and experience across the team.
- Strong self-motivation to drive innovation and create new services focused on ERP in integration and separation scenarios.
- Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed.
